about

A song about growing up missing one's childhood. The main riff between verses was inspired by Hawkwind's "Born to Go". Also notice the drumstick-on-guitar thing that I employ yet again in this song.

lyrics

i stood for a long time in the shallow water
safety net would catch me should i falter
no no let me go
no no say it isn't so
frustration, curiosity pulled me out
just fed the flames of self-doubt
geez geez wet my knees
you know, it's been many years since i climbed a tree
i'd like to climb a tree but i'm too fuckin big
i'd like to climb a tree but i'm too old to have fun
just treading water too deep to stand
i've got no life preserver cuz i'm a man
fuckin a, gee whiz
isn't it fuckin great not to be a kid
